WUSC's Songs of the Summer
After the anomaly that was “Brat Summer” during 2024, we have been left wondering what this summer’s anthem is. Although music inspires all of us in different ways, one thing is for sure: music makes a moment. So what is the moment of summer 2025?
We asked our DJs what they’ve been listening to this summer and why. Here are some of their responses:
“Aquarium Cowgirl” by Babe Rainbow: It is a ray of sunshine in song form.
“You Have Bought Yourself a Boat” by MJ Lenderman: Just feels like the perfect summer night.
“Polly” by Dora Jar: Very Upbeat, summer driving/bedroom dance party energy!
“What Was That” by Lorde: It’s a Lorde summer.
“Headphones On” by Addison Rae: It kind of ruled the summer. It’s such a breezy carefree track.
“Dakota” by Stereophonics: Absolutely made for car windows down weather.
